Starved Rock Civil War Roundtable will meet Nov. 17

Program on Richard Oglesby will be given at Ottawa High School

The Starved Rock Civil War Round Table is scheduled to meet 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, in Room 420 of Ottawa High School, 211 E. Main St. Drew Jessen will give a biography on Richard Oglesby. Secret Christmas door prizes will be given out and refreshments will be served.

Two dozen members attended the Oct. 20 meeting of the Starved Rock Civil War Round Table. The program of “Civil War Top 10s” was given by Ron Slack and Dan Schott. Topics included abolitionists, Lincoln and Davis similarities, fire-eaters, homefront hardships, items in a soldier’s diet and national battlefield sites.

Per Ottawa High School’s policy, masking is required for attendance. The public is welcome.
