James T. Reilly appointed to Supreme Court Judicial Performance Evaluation Committee

Streator attorney succeeds Ottawa’s Michael T. Reagan on panel

La Salle County attorney James T. Reilly was appointed to the Supreme Court Judicial Performance Evaluation Committee on Nov. 8.

Reilly, the founding partner of the Law Offices of Reilly and Skerston, LLC, has his main office in Streator. He was nominated to the position by Supreme Court Justice Robert L. Carter, of Ottawa. The appointment was approved by the seven Supreme Court justices. The Judicial Performance Evaluation Committee is comprised of Reilly and judges throughout Illinois. The committee’s purpose is to assess and improve judicial performance. Reilly replaces attorney Michael T. Reagan, of Ottawa, whose term will expire Dec. 31.

Reilly has practiced for more than 41 years concentrating in civil and criminal trial practice. He has litigated more than 50 jury trials and more than 30 major bench trials. His jury trials have included wrongful death, medical malpractice, fraud and various personal injuries. He received the 2019-2020 Matthew Maloney Tradition of Excellence Award. The award was given in recognition of his contribution to the general practice of law demonstrating zealous advocacy and personal service to the legal profession.

Reilly resides in Ottawa with his wife, Deborah.
