Streator Chamber announces 2021 lighting contest winners

The Streator Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ambassadors announced Monday the 2021 winners of the Streator Christmas Lighting Contest.

Nominations from the 61364 ZIP code area were received from friends, relatives, neighbors, chamber ambassadors and board members as well as the general public with increased numbers from the 2020 campaign.

“Nominations were numerous and our judging team took pleasure in viewing and grading the many entries,” said Ryan McGuckin, ambassador president. “Scoring was close in each category with challenging competition.”

With five categories to choose from the ambassador committee selected the winners and encouraged the Streator population to “check out the efforts that are available to view and enjoy.”

“Our residents did a terrific job and all should be appreciated and proud of their efforts” said Executive Director Jack Dzuris.

Winners, their category and addresses are:

Most Creative: Dan Danko, 207 W. Ninth St.

Most Eccentric: Barb Kettman, 1012 E. Bridge St.

Most Religious: Dustin Schaibley, 1507 Sharon Road

Best Store Front: Murray Cabinetry/Luxury Bath, 407 N. Bloomington St.

Best Display Overall: Kevin Garber, 42 Memory Lane
