Three Livingston County residents died from complications related to COVID-19 from Feb. 8-15, said the Livingston County Health Department.

There have been 132 COVID-related deaths in Livingston County since the beginning of the pandemic.

There were five new hospital admissions with COVID-19 in Livingston County in the past seven days, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Additionally, the Livingston County Health Department said there were 131 new cases of COVID-19 in the past week. As COVID at-home tests become more widely used, reported numbers only include those tests in which the results are sent to lab, not at-home tests, the health department said.

The Livingston County Health Department will open its new building to the public Tuesday, Feb. 22, at the same address of 310 E Torrance Ave., Pontiac. Go to www.lchd.us for more information on the health department’s services.

Families can visit the health department for COVID-19 vaccinations from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. Appointments are encouraged and available on the health department’s website. Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson are all available free to the public for first, second, third and booster doses, including Pfizer pediatric doses for ages 5-11. All children ages 5-17 must be accompanied by legal guardian. Adults must have their driver’s license/ID as well as their vaccination card for all doses except the first. Masks must be worn when interacting with health department staff. For those with limited mobility, your vaccination may be brought your vehicle.
