Chestnut Street in Ottawa will be closed again Saturday

Disconnection off existing utility lines necessary

Ottawa City Hall

The 800 block of Chestnut Street in Ottawa between Jefferson and Jackson streets will be closed to all through traffic beginning 7 a.m. Saturday, March 19.

The closure is needed to allow contractors to complete the disconnection of existing utility lines that served the former Financial Plus Credit Union building. The project is expected to be finished and the street opened to all traffic by 5 p.m. Saturday.

Motorists are asked to use caution in the area because regularly there is a high volume of traffic on that block.
