After 2-year wait, Marquette students will perform ‘Seussical the Musical’

Performance was canceled in 2020 because of the pandemic

Marquette Academy in Ottawa will present “Seussical the Musical” after two years of no performances during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Seussical” was the performance slated in 2020 prior to the school transitioning to virtual learning.

Many of the juniors and seniors were not able to perform in front of an audience but a few younger cast members revised their roles: Horton will be played by Jeffrey LaFeur, JoJo will be played by Ben Weyer and Mayzie La Bird will be played by Abby Leskonish. Other original cast members have stepped into larger roles, including Ella Biggins will play the Cat in the Hat, Sara Duchon will be Mrs. Mayor, Aislinn Aussem will be Gertrude, Rilee Leiske will perform as the General and Kaitlyn Magoonaugh will play Thing 1.

The performance is scheduled 8 p.m. Friday, April 1, and Saturday, April 2, in Bader Gym. Tickets may be purchased in the main office or at the door. Reserved tickets are $8 and bleacher seats are $7 ($6 for children and senior citizens).
