Hannah Hert, 27, of Ottawa, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, speeding (64 mph in a 55-mph zone), failure to signal and improper lane use at 9:35 p.m. Monday at 510 E. Norris Drive in Ottawa, La Salle County Sheriff’s Office said.

Luis Valdez, 25, of Mendota, was charged with improper passing after a two-vehicle crash with no injuries at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday on RT 251, a quarter mile south of North 37th Road in Troy Grove Township, La Salle County Sheriff’s Office said. Valdez was charged after he attempted to pass, and collided with, a vehicle driven by Stephen Schank of Mendota, police said.

Brian L. Beggs, 48, of Amboy, was picked up on a Lee County warrant for failure to appear (contempt of court) at 7:18 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Iowa Avenue and Jefferson Street, Mendota police said.

Terry E. Phillips, 68, of Mendota, was picked up on a La Salle County warrant for failure to appear (DUI) at 4:43 p.m. Tuesday, Mendota police said.

Asia L. Cordova, 26, of Mendota, was charged with driving while suspended at 8:58 p.m. Tuesday at Washington Street and 14th Avenue, Mendota police said.
